Natural and organic mascara can be a tricky one, quite often they don’t stay on very well and can smudge very easily. It is hard for natural mascaras to compete with the plethora of ‘conventional’ mascaras and their promises of false lash effects. However these promises more often than not come from suspect chemicals and synthetic fillers. So if we want to avoid them does that mean bare lashes or not going out in the rain?! No! There are some mascaras full of natural and organic ingredients that are starting to bridge the gap between the two.
One of our favourites at the moment is from the French Ecocert certified range Terre d’Oc. We have found it to be very durable, staying on our lashes rather than under our eyes! You can achieve a nice fuller lash effect by layering it, making sure you comb between layers. (Also try layering it over a firm favourite of ours – Jane Iredale’s PureLash Extender and Conditioner).
One thing we did find was that any excess product removed from the wand could then ooze out of the top when you did up the lid. Just make sure you wipe it before you put it back in your make-up bag, not a big issue.
The mascara is £17.95, granted it is not the cheapest choice but a good one for sure.
We are also fans of the Eye Kohl, available in 5 colours, these little eyeliners are hard wearing as well. Use them to create a bold line along the top lashes or smudge along the top and bottom for an instant smoky eye look. Team with a liquid liner to really smoulder. You can also use them all over the lid as an eyeshadow. They are great on their own or use as a base to intensify any powder eyeshadows you have.
We love the packaging too, very chic!
