This cream is lovely. I would describe it as a balm, it feels creamy to start then turns to an oil consistency on the skin but it isn’t greasy. I wanted to try it as it is described as a make-up artist’s must-have, indeed it is. It is made from Josie Maran’s signature argan oil along with other skin feeding ingredients such as shea butter, coconut oil, jojoba, and mango. It is a brilliant multi-tasker, Josie has a whole list of suggested uses which you could keep on adding too I’m sure. Use it to soften elbows and heels and other dry patches, as a night cream, under the eyes, on your cuticles, mix it with your favourite eyeshadow or blusher, calm flyway hair, the list goes on.
I have been using it in my kit as a lip balm, and it has been going down extremely well. It moisturises well and gives a little sheen. The big test came this week when I accidentally picked up some very hot tongs the wrong way, it hurt, a lot. After running my hand under cold water, I smothered the area with some of this balm and continued to reapply throughout the day. It instantly soothed my skin and the burning sensation eased for a while, the stinging did come back but it definitely helped. You can just make out where I grabbed the tongs and I have a small blister on my thumb. If I hadn’t put the cream on, I think the damage would have been a lot worse.
It is not yet available in the UK, which is a shame as everyone is asking where they can buy it. I will have to keep the kit stocked by travelling friends which is how I got it in the first place. That said, it is a good size so should last a while, a little goes a long way.
