Fare Healthy, the Soil Association and clean beauty..

I spent last Saturday at Fare Healthy and it was such a great day. There were so many inspiring people and brands there to help you on your wellness journey. I started the day with some yoga led by Annie Clarke of Mind Body Bowl which was lovely. I then wandered around the stalls and listened to a talk on visions and goals, which was great and got me thinking for sure. I stumbled on a kitchen beauty workshop by a brand called Liha beauty. I hadn’t heard of these before but they have a lovely small range with shea butter and coconut oil as the core ingredients. We made a whipped body cream which I loved – we were told to put it in a dark cupboard for the next couple of weeks, to let everything cure. I can’t wait to use it!

Next was a Soil Association panel discussion on Organic beauty, of which I took part. It was really great talking about why I chose organic beauty and a bit about my journey as a make-up artist.

Lauren Bartley of the Soil Association led the discussion and we were also joined by Louisa Canham of La-Eva, Dana Elemara of Arganic, Charlotte Dorman from Pukka Herbs and Dominic Winter from Neal’s Yard Remedies. Louisa and Dana are founders of their brands, Charlotte works in PR and Dominic is sustainability manager so it was a very mixed panel, which hopefully made it very interesting!

One of the questions was what is clean beauty? This has become such a buzz word and a question that is asked a lot of the time. I recently wrote a piece for a brilliant new website called Detox Health Beauty about my thoughts on clean beauty if you fancy a read… 🙂

Did anyone catch the discussion on Saturday? What are your thoughts on clean beauty?
