Green People new nude lipstick and Tinted DD Moisturiser..

Nude lipstick can actually be much harder to wear than bright colours. It can be easy to reach for a nude but it can also be easy to pick the wrong one. Some nudes are simply too nude and can wash the complexion right out, therefore doing nothing for you. Likewise some are just too brown and dull the complexion. I always suggest choosing a nude with a hint of pink or just something that will brighten your skintone. Obviously everyone is different but just make sure your lipstick is enhancing your natural tones.

Green People have an exciting launch coming up that I think will excite a lot of people. To celebrate their 20th anniversary they are launching a new lipstick which you guessed it, is a nude. They are launching just one shade at the moment called Damask Rose which as the name suggests is a pinky nude. It is also matte which is so nice, especially in the natural world. Most of the natural lipsticks tend to have some kind of sheen or be semi-matte. This is kind of expected when you think about the lovely natural oils and waxes these products will contain, but slightly annoying when you don’t want a shine! This Green People lipstick is probably the mattest I have come across from an organic brand so I’m really excited about it. The texture is really nice, it feels great on the lips and doesn’t dry them out – however I would always recommend using a lip balm to prep lips first under any matte formulation.

The colour is really wearable too, it is more on the pink side which makes me happy. I’ve been wearing it and I’m liking it a lot, I’ve seen it on lots of lovely faces over Instagram too and they’ve all looked great. I think it is a good universal shade and will suit lots of different people.

The lipstick is not vegan as it contains beeswax, however it does not contain any carmine. It is certified by Ecocert as having 100% natural ingredients, 18.5% of which are organic.

Ingredients – CAPRYLIC/CAPRIC TRIGLYCERIDE (NATURAL EMULSIFIER), OCTYLDODECANOL (PLANT DERIVED), KAOLIN (CHINA CLAY), CERA ALBA* (BEES WAX), OLUS OIL (VEGETABLE OIL), HELIANTHUS ANNUUS (SUNFLOWER) SEED CERA, RICINIS COMMUNIS (CASTOR) SEED OIL*, LAUROYL LYSINE (PLANT DERIVED), COPERNICIA CERIFERA (CARNAUBA) CERA*, HYDROGENATED VEGETABLE OIL, EUPHORBIA CERIFERA (CANDELILLA) WAX, TOCOPHEROL (VITAMIN E), HELIANTHUS ANNUUS (SUNFLOWER) SEED OIL, LIMONENE, LINALOOL, AROMA (NATURAL). There are three colours so it is a little limited and doesn’t cater for everyone. They can of course be mixed however to create more shades and they do seem to adjust a little when applied. From the top they are medium, light and ivory. I am light mixed in with a little bit of ivory.

They are mineral pigments and also contain a mineral sunscreen from Titanium Dioxide. This does create a nice glow on the skin but could create flashback in flash photography. I haven’t used them in my kit yet so this is something I need to investigate further… Anyone else had any experience of this? I would love to know!

The tinted moisturiser has a lower percentage of organic ingredients because it contains a lot of minerals which cannot be classified as organic. The Titanium Dioxide used is also non-nano.

I’m really liking them, personally I’ll definitely be wearing them. Great with summer just around the corner..

Do you wear nude lipstick – have you tried this new one yet? Are you a fan of the tinted moisturisers?
